Special number plate orders for Christmas

The cut-off date to order customisable plates for pre-Christmas delivery has now passed. However, you can still order a special number plate for yourself or as a gift.

Pre-Christmas delivery is not guaranteed. We will manufacture and supply them as soon as possible.

If you choose to gift a special number plate, make sure you have all the details of the person the gift is for.

You will need their:

• licence number
• surname
• date of birth.

When you order online, we will post the plate agreement directly to the recipient’s postal address.

You can pick up your order from a Service SA Customer Service Centre to save time and avoid postage delays.

Holiday period trading hours

Service SA Customer Service Centres and phone services will remain closed on the following dates:

• Thursday, 25 December – Friday, 26 December 2025
• Thursday, 1 January 2025

The manufacture and supply of special number plates will return to normal from Friday, 2 January 2026. Plate orders will generally be ready for collection within 10 working days of placing an order.
